From Piddig's waters to Olympic glory, Ilocano Shark Teofilo Yldefonso made history as the first Filipino and Southeast Asian Olympic medalist. Beyond swimming, he became a hero who bravely served in World War II.
Now, Ilocos Norte makes waves again for Palarong Pambansa 2025!
The official logo of 65th Palarong Pambansa represents a united archipelago, national pride, and the strength of young Filipino athletes! Ilocos Norte is ready to welcome the best student athletes from across the country for a celebration of the Filipino spirit!
- The Palarong Pambansa 2025 Ilocos Norte logo features a pixelated human figure inspired by Olympic swimmer Teofilo Yldefonso's distinctive posture.
- The design thoughtfully integrates traditional inabel textile patterns of Ilocos Norte, with the pixel arrangement recreating the characteristics warps and wefts in woven textiles. The logo is an intersection between athletic excellence and cultural heritage.
- Notable in the design are the letters "I" and "N" rendered with the sinan-bola(ball-like) pattern of inabel designed by Gawad ng Manlilikha ng Bayan Magdalena Gamayo.
- The color palette draws from the Philippine Flag, with "ILOCOS NORTE" prominently displayed in blue, "PALARO 2025" in red above, and "NAGKAKAISANG KAPULUAN"(United Archipelago" in red below.
